Engagement Photos

It is a milestone in everyone's life to get married, and the day has come for you guys to tell the world that you are officially engaged. There are many ways to organise this moment. The former question can be asked privately and subsequently plan a photo shooting. Or you can book your photographer for the day you make the proposal and catch the reaction on your partner's face. Either way, there is no right or wrong, and I'm here to help you.

If you plan for a surprise; and want to have

the picture taken with your partner's reaction, my suggestion is to give a hint about the photo shooting appointment or find an excuse so that both of you can dress accordingly. Every detail will begin taken into consideration. From music to flower arrangements, nothing will be left out.

Surprise or not, the location should symbolise a special place, something that has a meaning for you. Maybe you both like the beach, or mountain, or a garden in the city, where you had a magical date and so on.

I usually recommend sunsets as a shooting time as it has one of the most dramatic lights. It is always a good idea to plan your shooting around this time. It will give a magical vibe to your picture. Equally wonderful is to have a studio setting. Perhaps you want to take this occasion to have a more formal setting for your images and, a studio setting can be a great choice as they can become timeless images to frame.

Engagement pictures can also be the first choice you make regarding your wedding style. What colours will it be? Will your wedding have a theme? Are there specific flowers you want? Etc. So it is important to discuss together what are your ideas and how can we make it happen.

They can be great for invitations for example. Although, keep in mind that the most important thing is to realise your vision.

Here you have a starting point and, I hope, a source of inspiration to decide and plan your engagement pictures session.
